Rainbow Bridge Pet Services was my saving grace when my dog Willow passed away. Carol’s voice on the other line was such a comfort and she made the process of setting up the cremation very personal and easy for me. She even managed to make me smile and laugh a bit the night I spoke with her. John drove from their place of business to my home in Herndon, VA the very next morning and he was just as Carol described–extremely caring. His smile and warm heart were such a welcome, and he took so much care when taking Willow away. Carol and John, you felt like family, not just a business. That made ALL the difference at this very sad time. When Willow was sent back to me, I was just blown away with everything they did down to the sweet little jar, and the beautiful poem. I could go on and go, really. You both are angels, and I recommend you to those I know, when heaven forbid, the time come that their furry family members are in need of the service you provide. Thank you a thousand times over. You both have such a special place in my heart, and Willow’s. 🙂

Above and beyond!!! Rainbow Bridge provided an incredible customer experience during a difficult time. They understood the importance of our cat in our family and genuinely expressed sympathy for our loss. They took great care to explain their services and their promise to treat our cat with dignity. From our initial phone call to the return of our cat’s remains in a beautiful box, we were totally impressed with the services Rainbow Bridge provided. And, the price for their services was reasonable. Both Carol and John were wonderful and we recommend their services highly. This is a total class act!

Carol, thank you so much. 😊 You really helped me laugh and smile last night. Your voice and humor were just what I needed to hear. I feel so relieved leaving Willow in your care.
Thank you again for your help and the services you all provide. It feels like family—not a business, and that means so much.
John was just as friendly as you described. You both just feel like family to me, and I’m sure you know how less painful it makes this entire experience when you have people as caring as yourselves caring for our pets.
I can see why you both do what you do. Thank you again.

Having used Rainbow Bridge Pet Services for my cat Angel, there was no question who to call when we had to say good-bye to Simba. Their compassion, reliable on-time service, understanding, and care were much appreciated during our time of loss. Truly a 5-star operation. Carol and John – thank you for being there for us.

Thanks Carol! You have been really great and I much appreciate what you have done for us. While I saw this coming, it still is very sad and Mikesh kind of took his last breaths in my arms. He went peacefully for which I am very grateful, and while we will miss him, he is probably climbing up on Roxy, our dog, in pet heaven, snoozing right now. Thanks for all your help with this.

Thank you Carol, everything worked out today. I didn’t realize how much having Trixy’s ashes here with us would mean to us. We could still talk to her and feel her close by. The lock of hair was impressive, looked so different than the fur I find around the house.
We appreciate John’s effort to keep a spot in the lock. And the vial was another nice touch. We opened it up on where her favorite spots were and settled on the sound side of Cape Hatteras, where she use to hop like a bunny through the 2 feet of standing water.
We weren’t ready to say goodbye, but now we have. We thank you and John for helping us through.

I will go ahead and tell you now that you don’t need to follow up with us in a few days unless you just really want to. You not only met our expectations, you exceeded them tremendously.
This was such a difficult loss for us, although not necessarily unexpected. I was looking over Piglet’s vet records last night and I saw that in 2011 the vet estimated her age to be 16 based on her teeth. If that’s accurate she lived to be almost 22. We knew she wouldn’t live forever, but it was so hard to say goodbye. Your compassion and caring made a really difficult situation much less difficult.
We were so moved by the beautiful wood urn with the cat carving on top and the beautiful way her ashes were preserved. The little vial of ashes made me cry because now I am able to keep her near me all the time. The very sweet way the certificate was worded touched our hearts. To read that Piglet was honored with a private cremation helped to reaffirm what we already felt about your services; that you are animal lovers and would care for our beautiful girl as if she was your own. The paw print is perfect and we will treasure it forever.
However, the one thing that moved me beyond words was the bag containing Piglet’s hair. I had cut some of her hair myself before John picked her up, but not anywhere near the amount you returned to us. I am an avid scrap-booker and I have a whole album dedicated to our animals. In that album I have a plastic pocket containing the hair of our beloved first dog, Jackson. When I saw the hair that you guys had saved for us, I knew for certain that Piglet was treated with the utmost honor and respect by you and John. I knew you would treat her like that, but when I saw the preserved hair I realized just how important your work is to you. You thought to save something for me that only a genuine animal lover would think to save. I realized that your love and compassion extended to our family. You not only treasured our beautiful, sweet girl, you helped our hearts to begin to heal.
As soon as I am ready I will definitely send pictures to memorialize Piglet. I will also shout from the rooftops how overjoyed we are with your service. I can’t imagine that your job is easy, but it is absolutely necessary. You provide a vital service to animal lovers and you provide it with a tremendous amount of love and compassion. We will be forever grateful and we will always recommend you to everyone.
With 3 dogs, 8 cats, and an eternal devotion to rescuing animals, I know we will need you again in the future, and we will definitely contact you when that time comes. However, as touched as we have been by everything you’ve done, I must say I hope and pray that it will be a long time before we need you again!
We pray for a wonderful Christmas for all of you and all of God’s blessings for you, your families, and your staff in the new year. Thank you again for everything!

Thank you so very much for your quick response and kind and respectful care of our special cat, Bicky. We are so grateful for your services and for the caring approach you took with us. We love her box, and I was surprised and happy to also get the lock of her fur. I rescued her from the streets when she was about 3 years old and she had already had a few litters of kittens. She never acted like a feral cat but always loved to be outside in the sun. She lived a very happy 15 years with us and she will be missed.
We won’t hesitate to recommend you to our friends!

Our heartfelt thanks to John and Carol at Rainbow Bridge Pet Services, for their incredibly timely, respectful and gentle handling of Sam’s remains. Carol – thanks for everything, and thanks to John. The service you both provided was top notch. The ride out to Lovettsville with Joe was just the peaceful last ride Joe would have loved…… so all is OK.
Our boys will appreciate seeing his photo on your memoriam page, as they were the ones who picked Joe as a pup. Thanks again for everything – a wonderful service for grieving families.

Just a quick note to say how pleased Kim and myself were with Tuppy’s urn and other items; and, of course, the compassionate service we received. Kim was really overwhelmed when she came home and found such a beautiful display. It meant a lot to her and we can’t thank you enough.

On Tuesday, March 1, I arrived home a little late and Ramon was not in the foyer. I called his name and clapped my hands but no response. I went upstairs just to find him lying dead on the floor. He was fine that morning before I left for work and I said BYE- BYE to him. I have no clue why he died like this. It was the most traumatic and emotionally devastating experience I had ever been through. I didn’t know what to do with the dead body. I cried a whole ocean of tears. Thanks God for my son and his girlfriend being there when I was in desperate need.
While I had an adrenaline rush, I googled pet cremation on the internet and found Rainbow Bridge Pet Services. We drove him there on that day. Upon our arrival, John Lender, the owner was there to greet us and he expressed his condolences for the loss of my dog. Then he gave us a tour of the VIP Dog Boarding Kennel facility. Really champ! He answered all of our questions about the kennel and cremation. I really appreciate his patience with us, the deaf customers. I was fortunate to have my son who is hard of hearing interpret for us all. John was so kind and generous.

Dearest Carol and John,
I wanted to thank you for your care of Nikki and for your service. We are deeply saddened by her passing and it comforts us greatly to know that she was in loving hands while away from us. The rosewood urn, vial of ashes, and certificate are all very beautiful, just like our Nikki.
Thank you again for your loving care of our beloved family member. We appreciate the service that you and John have provided in our time of grief.

Thank you, Carol, for all your help and kindness during a very difficult time. John and Logan were also very kind and understanding as I cried and said goodbye to my dear best friend and magnificent dog. I look forward to seeing them again when they bring her back. Am most grateful for all you did to help me through this.
Many, many thanks again to you and John for all your help and kindness during a very tough time. Still so sad not to have my little Nora in all her favorite spots but with your help I have a nice little memorial spot for her which brings me some comfort. My thanks again for your kindness.

I would like to thank the staff at Rainbow Bridge Pet Services for the kindness, understanding and compassion shown to me before, during and after the cremation of my companion of 12 ½ years, my cat, Mighty Adie. During the planning stage, Carol was so very helpful and kind, as if she knew exactly how I was feeling. During and after the cremation, John went above and beyond to help me get through the final good bye to my beloved cat, and for that, my heartfelt thanks. Even little Sassy (John’s 8-year old Welsh Terrier) did her part to help me feel better. Saying goodbye to a pet is no easier than saying goodbye to our other family and loved ones. As anyone who has experienced this grief knows, the most difficult part is this last step. Words cannot express how much John helped me get through the closing of this chapter. Mighty Adie will never be forgotten, but I feel a little more at peace with it. Thank you, thank you, thank you to John and Carol, and of course, Sassy.

I want to thank everyone who assisted in taking care of my two best friends, Bender and Blair. This brother and sister pair of Golden Retrievers have been together since birth. For more than 14 years they were always there for me and never once did they cause any real trouble. Their love for one another was so great that once I had made arrangements for Blair to be euthanized, due to illness, Bender had a major stroke and needed to be euthanized as well. I truly believe that they knew each other so well and did not want to be separated. Your staff of professionals were honest, upfront and so caring in this time of loss for me. Words are hard to say just how thankful I am that I found your services and that my dogs were in caring and loving hands for their cremation. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Carol, Thank you again for being so kind while we worked through the logistics. I appreciate both you and John being so pleasant throughout this process, and for helping us with Sophia’s after death care. We loved her greatly for 18 years, and will surely miss her. I do have some photos to upload to you, for the memorial page, that is such a sweet idea. Thank you again!
Thank you very much for following up, and for taking such good care of Sophia’s remains. Everything arrived as promised, and it was a very nice package, for which we are thankful. Thank you again to both you and Carol for all of your help throughout this process. You both helped greatly in a period of sadness for our household. Thank you again!

Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory Services was there for me when I knew my lovely Norwich Terrier was ready for her eternal hunting grounds. I had known about the family operated business in NVA for some time and had heard A+ remarks about how professional and compassionate they were. Losing a pet can be such an over whelming emotion. I wanted Ahsie to be taken into knowledgeable hands and I also wanted her treated with the greatest level of kindness and respect and that is just what Rainbow Bridge did for us.
The process with Rainbow Ridge from beginning to end went very smoothly and she was back with me within 24 hours. They took care of every detail and did a beautiful job of creating a gift that represented how loved and important Ahsie was to me. The whole presentation was Lovely. A hand carved rosewood box came with tiny glass bottles tied with silk bows of her token remains, an envelope of her hair and a certificate. The whole presentation was perfect and so greatly appreciated by me. Then a few days later a card came in the mail acknowledging her loss and their thoughts of me. Rainbow Bridge Pet Crematory Services surpassed my highest expectations and I can’t thank or recommend them more highly.

Thank you very, very much. I can see you took care of Cassie from head to tail and it means the most of anything in my entire life. You are doing something very special for people who have bonded and grown with their pets. I appreciate your helping us cope. The urn – everything – was beautiful. Your work is the best of any cremation service out there. I know when Shyla is ready (hopefully, not for several more years), we can experience the loss in this delicate manor again. Thank you again.

I cannot begin to thank you enough for all you did. It was such a blessing to have been put in touch with you. The kindness and care you took with Pirate cannot be forgotten. We want to express our thanks and appreciation for all you have done for us since Holly’s passing.
To know that you took care of our Holly with such love and respect for her means the world to us! It is hard to express in words how grateful we are to you.
We feel like Holly was such a part of the VIP family! How fitting that things would come full circle and you would care for her at the end. We could not think of a better ending for our girl.
Her final resting place is so very beautiful. You placed so many lovely touches throughout the entire experience. It really helped to ease our pain and helped us tremendously through the transition.
How timely that your Rainbow Bridge Pet Services were there for our family. We will be forever grateful!
You have created a truly honorary service and we wish you all the best. We know you will realize great success with your business. You go above and beyond and you truly care.
Thanks you again for all you have done!

I would like to personally thank Rainbow Bridge Pet Services for taking care of my boy, Blue, back on December 20th. This boy was a rescue dog of mine and he had been through so much in the past year, between battling and beating heartworms to finding an amazing home to call his own and being able to have his own kids to play with daily. Then I got a call that something was wrong, he wasn’t acting right. I went to visit him and I knew right away – something was going on. After speaking to the vet and evaluating his behaviors and mannerisms, we knew this was the start of a brain tumor or brain cancer. At that time, I knew I had to let him go. This boy meant the world to me. I rescued him twice from horrible situations and I wanted nothing but the best for him. I set up an appointment at my vet to have him humanely euthanized, surrounded by people who loved him and by people he loved.
I was given the option to use the cremation company that the vet already used but that seemed a bit pricey. Plus it would take up to a week or so to get the remains back. I’ve been through this before. You grieve, and just when you think you are going to have a day without crying, then you get a call saying your remains are back, to come pick them up. Or worse yet, I’ve come home to have the remains sitting on my front porch. I couldn’t go through that again. It‘s too hard!
So I decided to research local cremation companies. This is when I came across Rainbow Bridge Pet Services. Their website says they offer same-day pickup service of the pet and next day return delivery. I contacted them right way and I knew from the moment I spoke to Carol, that this company would be able to help me make this process easier. I told them what time my vet appointment was and we arranged a time for them to meet me at the vet’s office. They came in on time and although I was not finished saying good bye, they gave me as much time as I needed. I never felt rushed at all. They respectfully sat out in the lobby waiting for myself and my friends to say our good byes. When it was time for them to come in and take my boy away, I decided to stay in the room to give him one last kiss. They came in and were so respectful to myself and my dog; they had so much compassion in their eyes while getting my boy ready for transport. I honestly could not think of a more respectful way for us to say good bye. The staff at Rainbow Bridge helped me with that. And to top it off, John personally delivered my dog’s remains to me the very next day. He came inside a beautiful wooden box in a velvet bag, along with a cremation certificate.
Rainbow Bridge Pet Services will always hold a special place in my heart. As much as I hate to say this, I know I will need your services again in the future and I’ll be sure to call! Your professionalism and respect for the animals is top notch and something I’ll never forget!

Thank God for good friends, a patient husband and a man who was fed up with how the majority of pet crematory places do business. My friend put me in touch with Rainbow Bridge Pet Services out of Leesburg and I am so grateful that she did. The owner, John Lender, operates a boarding kennel as well. He drove from Leesburg to Winchester yesterday, got Bella, and returned her remains to me today, with a certificate (that they are hers); in beautiful solid wood box, inside a red velvet bag, and with the Rainbow Bridge poem, too. I am so happy with this service that I will recommend him highly. Extremely reasonable in price for the way they care for your loved one. I would have gladly paid triple! I fretted all day about having Bella back home – and now she is! Thank you for your kindness, compassion and professionalism.

We were so relieved and comforted to discover Rainbow Bridge Pet Services. They were able to come and collect the remains of our beloved pet who passed away at home and returned him the next day. Completely professional, wonderful service, and everyone was extremely sympathetic and comforting. Truly a wonderful service and I couldn’t believe how affordable. This is a wonderful business, and if you are in need – please call them!! I’m telling all my dog friends about them too. Thank you so much John, we appreciated your help more than I can ever put into words! ~Simon’s family

“Thank you, Rainbow Bridge Pet Services, for taking care of our dear Yorkie mix, “Theodore”. We had to say good bye to him after over 16 years. Theodore passed away at home and was picked up by the staff of Rainbow Bridge Pet Services promptly within an hour of my phone call to them. The very next day Theodore’s cremains were personally delivered to us in a pretty wooden box along with a paw print and a lock of Theodore’s long hair.
We really appreciate the thoughtful and respectful manner in which Rainbow Bridge Pet Services handled our sweet dog. While it will take time and sorrow to move on after the loss of such a wonderful friend and companion, we are very grateful to everyone at Rainbow Bridge Pet Services for their kindness.
